We are excited to host Alpha in multiple places & locations this year. Thank you for considering being on our leadership team. There are several ways you can serve:
- Alpha Discussion Leader: These are folks who are willing to sit in silence, to leave space for the unchurched to answer, and who are comfortable with uncomfortable questions. You may not have the answers, and you don’t have to! In the Alpha training, we will go over the fact that we as leaders do not give answers. (And certainly we don’t correct other people’s “wrong” answers!!) We set the table for others to give their honest answers and show a willingness to be with them as they seek to learn more.
- Alpha Hospitality Helper: Help us to welcome people into Alpha, get them what they need, help set the (literal) table with refreshments.
- Alpha Participant: Maybe you are considering leading a group in the future? Or you have been struggling with doubts yourself? Or you just need a break from constantly serving. You, yes YOU, can be a participant. No questions asked.
- Refreshments Provider One Sunday in February or March: You may not have the bandwidth to fully participate, but you or your small group or Sunday school group may feel a call to provide refreshments for an Alpha group. Hospitality is a HUGE part of Alpha. Your willingness to provide refreshments could have eternal impact. Let us know if you want to sign up for a refershments. We can help give ideas if needed, and YES we do have some funds available for reimbursement from the Evangelism budget for Alpha events.
- Prayer Team: Are you willing to commit to strategically pray over our Alpha groups meeting this year? Our prayer team can connect on the prayer app, receive a list of prayer needs, & gather for prayer periodically.
- Alpha Weekend Helper: We have an Alpha Weekend in the Fall where we will have an opportunity to experience several unique Alpha sessions that include a worship time & fellowship time.
- Christmas Hospitality Table: I hope to have an Alpha table available before and after each service in the lobbies with some light refreshments. We did this for Christmas Eve, and I think it was a huge success in helping people feel welcome and connecting them to a next step if they are wanting to connect (or reconnect) to Jesus through Alpha. If this is something you are willing to give 30 minutes of time to on Christmas, let us know.
